OUR CONFESSION
A Faith Received, Not Invented
We affirm the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms as faithful summaries of what the Bible teaches: subordinate to Scripture, yet clearly reflecting it. In summary, here is what we believe.
The Bible, God & Man
- The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, our only rule for faith and life.
- There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the only Savior of sinners.
- All people are made in God’s image, yet all are sinners unable to save themselves.
Salvation & the Christian Life
- We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
- Justification rests on Christ’s atoning death and resurrection, received by faith.
- Good works are the fruit of salvation, never its cause.
- The Holy Spirit indwells believers forever, sanctifying them for God.
The Church
- Christ himself established and sustains his Church.
- The Church is governed by elders (presbuteros), called to oversight and shepherding.
- God gives spiritual gifts to every member for the good of the whole body.
- We gather to worship, grow, and build one another up in love.
Outreach & Culture
- God ordains both the ends of salvation and the means, including our witness.
- Believers are called to be salt and light in every sphere of life.
- We seek to engage the culture faithfully: in the world, but not of it.
- The gospel compels us to love and serve our neighbors and our city.
