 Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ—and thank you for stopping by our website. I hope it will help
you understand a bit more about who we are, what we believe and what we do. There are many things churches strive to
be and do these days, but we at McIlwain believe that we must view all things through the lens of the Gospel, which is
“the power of God for salvation” (
Romans 1:16).
It is the message of God’s forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ that
makes the church what it is—and we strive to keep that message front and center.
As a Presbyterian church in the Reformed evangelical tradition, McIlwain is committed, as the
Westminster Shorter Catechism says,
to glorifying God and enjoying him forever. We believe that understanding the last half of that phrase is foundational to
fulfilling God’s plans for our lives; it is his heart’s desire that we begin learning now from his Word what it means to enjoy him forever.
For over 100 years now God has been pleased to use his people at McIlwain Presbyterian Church in exciting and unique ways.
Throughout this time he has used McIlwain to expand the Kingdom of Christ by nurturing a deep commitment to his holy and inerrant Word,
equipping generations of saints to serve both here and around the world and by building up his people in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
