Midweek @ McIlwain
The Fall 2007 Schedule of Wednesday Night Opportunities for Fellowship, Ministry, Growth,
and Service at McIlwain Presbyterian Church.
Midweek at McIlwain is a time for
…FELLOWSHIP AT DINNER
McIlwain’s Fellowship Committee hosts the Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinner, which is served from 5:30 PM until 6:15 PM in the
Fellowship Hall. The Fellowship Dinner is open to McIlwain members, attendees, and guests, and provides a relaxing midweek time to enjoy Christian community and good food.
The catered dinner is free for first-time visitors!
The cost of the dinner is $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 4-10. Children under 4 eat free. The maximum charge for a family, regardless of number, is $12.00.
In order to provide an estimated count for the amount of food to prepare, it is very important that McIlwainians sign up for the Fellowship
Dinner on Sunday mornings. Please use the form in the worship folder insert and place it in the offering plate or sign the friendship pad. If you cannot fill out one of these forms, please let the church office know (438-5449) by noon on Monday .
…MINISTRY
Season of Prayer and Bible Study
Prayer is a vital part of our Christian walk. It is God’s gift to his children for communing with and communicating to him. Join with your brothers and sisters in Christ for a time of encouragement, strengthening and intercession.
We will begin with a brief study dealing with the importance of prayer led by Pastor Rob Looper and conclude with a season of prayer. This season of prayer includes a time for adoration, praise, confession and thanksgiving, culminating in a time of intercession on behalf of the body of Christ here at McIlwain.
Meets 6:30–7:15 PM in the Church Parlor located in the Graham building.
Kids’ Connection
This fall we will be doing something a little different. The children will be divided into three separate age groups (K-4—K-5; 1st-3rd grades; 4th-6th grades) and will be learning various songs in preparation for a children’s choir and will be having a time of Bible study.
For the 1st-6th grades the singing will be led by Lisa Schroeder and the Bible study by Katherine Clarke. For the younger grades the singing will be led by Kelly Dieckmann and the Bible study by Eileen Crabtree.
Meets 6:15-7:15 pm in the Knox building.
To ensure everyone’s safety, we ask that parents supervise children when not in class and to be prompt in picking them up at 7:15.
…GROWTH
Youth Ministries
The youth (7—12 grades) will meet together for a time of singing, games, and Bible study. The teacher for this class will be Stephen Scott.
Meets 6:15-7:15 PM in the Youth Room (upstairs Graham Educational Building).
Y.A.B.S.
The Young Adult Bible Study (YABS) is open to all young adults at McIlwain, and their guests. After an initial joint meeting (for announcements, etc.), YABS currently is dividing into smaller discussion groups for men and women. The men are studying Romans; the ladies are studying Hosea. The men’s class will be led by Elder Tom Swaim, with recurring guest appearances by Rev. Looper and other members of the Session; the women’s class will be led by Mrs. Catherine Swaim, but is also frequently assisted by guest discussion leaders.
Meets 6:45 for fellowship, with the study from 7:00-8:15 PM in the “Pink House” on the McIlwain campus.

The Sanctuary Choir rehearses from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM in the Sanctuary and is open to anyone who would like to sing with us.
