Women's Ministries
The goal of the McIlwain's Women's Ministries is to undergird the work of the whole church through Bible Study, prayer, mercy ministry,
inspiration, and personal encouragement. We believe that women have a vital, God-given ministry that must be used to the fullest.
Women's ministries is also known as Women in the Church, or "WIC." The initials, "WIC," suggest the symbol of an old fashioned kerosene
lamp with a wick. This symbol emphasizes the importance of spiritual life and
encourages women to obey Christ's command to shine as lights in a dark world. Similarly, the believer's life must be filled with the oil of the
Holy Spirit. The knob on the side of the lamp represents the Bible, by which the lives of believers must be regulated and trimmed in obedience to His revealed will.
Every woman McIlwain member is automatically a member of one of the "Circles," which meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 10 AM.
Circles include Bible study, fellowship, and service offer a way to get to know others in a meaningful way.
The current circles and their schedules are:
- Circle One, studying Footprints of the Fisherman by Carol Ruvolo, is taught by Barbara Maves in Fellowship Hall.
- Circle Two, studying Lies Women Believe by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, is taught by Mildred Hearne in homes.
- Circle Three is reading Through the Looking Glass by Kris Lundgaard, and is taught by Sara Jo Clay in homes.
- Circle Four, discussing Discovering Christ in the Old Testament by Edmund P. Clowney, is taught by Frauna Swanson.
- Circle Five, examining Lies Women Believe, is taught by Glenda Stanfa and meets in the Parlor at 6:30 PM.

Men's Ministries
Men's Prayer Breakfast meets each Tuesday morning at 6:30 AM. We have a short devotional, share various personal and corporate
concerns, and then go to prayer. We are finished in time to get to work or to begin whatever the day holds.
Men of the Covenant meet together once a month, usually on the second Saturday, for a men's breakfast and a featured opportunity
for encouragement, or a special service project. This is a great way for men of all ages to enjoy food, fellowship and make a difference in
someone's life through mercy type ministries.
Keenagers
Come be a part of a growing and exciting ministry for adults 50 years and older. We gather regularly for fellowship, learning, meals,
ministry, trips to places of interest, and go to conferences and retreats together.
Life is just beginning for us. We've never been happier or busier. Now we aren't driven by the nine to five clock and can devote
our time to productive activities of choice. And it's a great way to make new friends with those whom you have so much in common.
We invite you to become part of the Keenagers at McIlwain. We welcome new people. And you don't have to be a member of the church
to take part in the activities. Just contact us at 438-5449, or e-mail us at info@mcilwain.org, and we will make sure you're kept
up-to-date on all the activities.
