Women's Ministries
The goal of the McIlwain's Women's Ministries is to undergird the work of the whole church through Bible Study, prayer, mercy ministry,
inspiration, and personal encouragement. We believe that women have a vital, God-given ministry that must be used to the fullest.
Women's ministries is also known as Women in the Church, or "WIC." The initials, "WIC," suggest the symbol of an old fashioned kerosene
lamp with a wick. This symbol emphasizes the importance of spiritual life and
encourages women to obey Christ's command to shine as lights in a dark world. Similarly, the believer's life must be filled with the oil of the
Holy Spirit. The knob on the side of the lamp represents the Bible, by which the lives of believers must be regulated and trimmed in obedience to His revealed will.
Every woman McIlwain member is automatically a member of one of the "Circles," which meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 10 AM.
Circles include Bible study, fellowship, and service offer a way to get to know others in a meaningful way.

Young Adult Bible Study (YABS)
YABS is a combination of serious Bible study and fellowship aimed at young adults, and meets each Wednesday evening at the Pink House on the McIlwain campus at 6:45 PM. The ages of those that attend range from 18 to 35, and while most are single, married couples also attend. The goal of YABS is to specifically address some of the secular challenges to the intellectual credibility of the reformed Christian faith facing many young adults, and particularly those pursuing higher education, or out for the first time in the working world. Past YABS studies have addressed issues like the integrity of Scripture, abortion, euthanasia, the “just war” debate, capital punishment, the role of Christian faith in modern psychiatry, psychology and medical ethics, and examined writings by both Christian and non-Christian writers and thinkers including C.S. Lewis, R.C. Sproul, Ravi Zacharias, Friedrich W. Nietzsche, and Sigmund Freud. We also study the Scriptures, recently examining Romans, Hosea, and James.
If you are interested in this type of study, please join us! If any questions, please call the church office.
Men's Ministries
Men's Prayer Breakfast meets each Tuesday morning at 6:30 AM. We have a short devotional, share various personal and corporate
concerns, and then go to prayer. We are finished in time to get to work or to begin whatever the day holds.
Men of the Covenant meet together once a month, usually on the second Saturday, for a men's breakfast and a featured opportunity
for encouragement, or a special service project. This is a great way for men of all ages to enjoy food, fellowship and make a difference in
someone's life through mercy type ministries.
Keenagers
Come be a part of a growing and exciting ministry for adults 50 years and older. We gather regularly for fellowship, learning, meals,
ministry, trips to places of interest, and go to conferences and retreats together.
Life is just beginning for us. We've never been happier or busier. Now we aren't driven by the nine to five clock and can devote
our time to productive activities of choice. And it's a great way to make new friends with those whom you have so much in common.
We invite you to become part of the Keenagers at McIlwain. We welcome new people. And you don't have to be a member of the church
to take part in the activities. Just contact us at 438-5449, or e-mail us at info@mcilwain.org, and we will make sure you're kept
up-to-date on all the activities.
