Fabio Bidini

October 14, 2000

The Rolfs Piano Series 2000-2001 season will open on October 14, 2000 when one of its all time favorites returns, Italian pianist Fabio Bidini. Mr. Bidini is a finalist of the 1993 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and has established a brilliant international career which includes a large Gulf Coast audience. A Fabio Bidini performance is always a fabulous event and we can be assured of a spectacular opening concert. So come early, the house fills quickly when Fabio Bidini performs!

Antonio Pampa-Baldi

November 18, 2000

On November 18, 2000 we are privileged to present the First Place Winner of the 1999 Cleveland International Piano Competition, Italian pianist Antonio Pampa-Baldi. Mr. Pampa-Baldi is also First Place Winner of Italy’s 1997 Francesco Durante and 1995 Viotti-Valsesia International Piano Competitions and has won many other awards in his native Italy. We anticipate a truly brilliant performance and large audience.

Raymond Jackson

February 17, 2001

On February 17, 2001 we are excited about again having the distinguished American pianist Raymond Jackson return to our series. Dr. Jackson has won top prizes in numerous national and international competitions including the Marguerite Long International Piano Concour in Paris and the Tenth International Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His doctoral dissertation, “The Piano Music of Twentieth Century Black Americans” has been incorporated into the Juilliard Music library. Raymond Jackson is celebrated for elevating piano poetry to an exquisitely high level by his sensitivity. His virtuoso artistry held our audience in awe and we are looking forward to another beautiful and memorable performance by Raymond Jackson.

Marina Lomazov

March 10, 2001

On March 10, 2001 we will present the brilliant and dynamic Ukraine-born pianist Marina Lomazov. Ms. Lomazov is the youngest First Prize winner of the Kiev All-Piano Competition. She is also First Prize winner of the 1998 Hilton Head International Piano Competition and the 1997 National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Audition. She is the Silver Medallist of the 1995 Cleveland International Piano Competition. In 1998 Ms. Lomazov received prizes in the William Kapell and Gina Bachauer International Piano Competitions. Critics praise her as “a diva of the piano” and “a mesmerizing risk-taker”. We are certain she will end our 2000-2001 season in a grand and elegant manner.
